Sandman - Witchcraft

Behind Sandman stands Itzik Levi, a gifted producer from Tel Aviv whose groundbreaking debut left a lasting mark on the psychedelic trance scene. Remarkably, Itzik wrote Witchcraft when he was only 19 years old, becoming one of the first Israeli artists ever to sign with an international label during that era. Originally released in 1998, the album immediately generated enormous interest, fuelled by the growing anticipation surrounding Sandman's unique sound.
Sandman is the duke of darkness, his music sharp as a blade, weaving hypnotic psychedelic orchestrations with layers of mysterious samples carrying hidden messages. Over the years, Sandman built an impressive discography with releases on Matsuri, Symbiosis, Hadshot Haheizar, Blue Room, TIP, and more.
Witchcraft remains an eternal masterpiece and is widely regarded as the pinnacle of Sandman's musical career. Its rarity only amplified its mythical status across dance floors and collectors' circles around the globe. The album features some of Sandman's most iconic tracks, including Shockwave and Nostradamus (created together with DJ Bansi of GMS).
This special Avatar edition includes an exclusive bonus track titled Faith, a previously unreleased piece written during the original Witchcraft sessions that never officially saw the light of day. Those who witnessed Sandman performing live may already recognize this track.
The album was newly mastered and enhanced by Avi Algranati, whose additional engineering work elevates the sound to an entirely new level while preserving the spirit of the original recordings. The artwork caries the stunning painting by renowned artist Alex Grey, maintaining the timeless visual identity that became inseparable from the album's legacy.
