Current Pathways - USA

Current Pathways is the brainchild of Mahadev, also known as Matt Gangi, recognized for his work with GANGI, Ivory Fields, and Fake Estates. Based in Glendale's Verdugo Mountains in California, Mahadev has gained international recognition through recordings and performances across the United States and Internationally including at The Geffen Contemporary Museum of Modern Art at MOCA.
This musical endeavour features Mahadev's mastery of modular synthesizers, circuits hand-built by Mahadev, string instruments, vocals, gong, samples, and field recordings from his time in India. These compositions were meticulously mixed using vintage reel-to-reel tape machines and analogue circuits.
His Tattvas album draws inspiration from influential figures like Guru Ji Goa Gil, who incorporated the tracks into his extended DJ sets. Other sonic influences encompass artists such as Suzanne Ciani, Delia Derbyshire, Alio Die, Brian Eno, Laraaji, Pauline Oliveros, Daphne Oram, and Steve Roach.
In an interview, Mahadev explained that the album's structure follows teachings from Guru Ji, with tracks like the opener, a Ganesha mantra to eliminate obstacles, and the second composition depicting Shiva's transformative destruction. Interestingly, the album's title "Tattvas" was suggested by Guru Ji Goa Gil.
